“Having our Red Pepper Jelly selected as a finalist in the Outstanding Classic category is one of the greatest recognitions that a 67-year-old specialty food company can ever hope to receive,” says Andrew Oliver, president of Braswell Food Company. “Red Pepper Jelly was one of the first products that Braswell’s developed in the 1940s. It was one of those family recipes that tasted absolutely amazing, but initially, jelly made from red bell peppers wasn’t the easiest thing to sell,” says Oliver, who also owns the company with three other partners. “When you think of “classic,” you think of something that never goes out of style, and our Red Pepper Jelly clearly meets that standard.”
Braswell’s Select Red Pepper Jelly is sold throughout the United States and Canada at finer grocers and specialty food stores, including Whole Foods Market, Loblaws, Publix, Kroger, Food Lion, Sobeys and hundreds of independents, as well as online at  Based on IRI Data, Braswell’s is by far the best selling Red Pepper Jelly in the nation.
“Consumer tastes and palate preferences are expanding,” says Oliver.  “People are entertaining at home more than they have in the past and our robust flavored pepper jellies are the perfect way to effortlessly entertain well.”

In addition to preserves, jams, jellies and marmalades, Braswell’s also makes dressings, condiments and marinades that use all-natural ingredients that are sourced as locally as possible.  Braswell’s has won numerous awards for the innovative and reusable glassware that they have designed as containers for their specialty products. In 2011 the company was a Finalist in the Outstanding Condiment (Smoky Chipotle Mustard) and also won Outstanding Preserve, Jam or Jelly (Balsamic Sweet Onion Jam).  The company’s Native South brand, a collection of Southern inspired gourmet salsa and sauces, has earned a total of five prestigious sofi™ Awards, including Outstanding Product Line.
