“Having our Red Pepper Jelly selected as a finalist in the Outstanding Classic category is one of the greatest recognitions that a 67-year-old specialty food company can ever hope to receive,” says Andrew Oliver, president of Braswell Food Company. “Red Pepper Jelly was one of the first products that Braswell’s developed in the 1940s. It was one of those family recipes that tasted absolutely amazing, but initially, jelly made from red bell peppers wasn’t the easiest thing to sell,” says Oliver, who also owns the company with three other partners. “When you think of “classic,” you think of something that never goes out of style, and our Red Pepper Jelly clearly meets that standard.”
