DeCecco USA Names CEO

The Italian-based pasta company De Cecco, has named Marco de Ceglie CEO of its USA division. The appointment became effective November 1, 2012.

de Ceglie’s responsibilities include broadening De Cecco’s market share and distribution deCegliechannels in the United States with a focus on brand awareness and product superiority through a strategic program of marketing and innovative sales techniques.

Previously, de Ceglie was CEO/EVP of marketing and sales at American Rice Inc., and earlier, President and Managing Director of Mediterranean Dressing, a business unit of Unilever Italy.

“We look forward to working with Mr. de Ceglie in his new position with the De Cecco family. His professional experience, proven leadership skills and deep understanding of the U.S. market make him uniquely qualified to lead De Cecco USA into the future,” said a company spokesman.

De Cecco is an Italian company that produces dried pasta, sauces, and its own olive oil brand, among other related fine foods. Founded in 1886 by Filippo Giovanni De Cecco in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, the company originally produced flour at their stone mill before establishing a pasta factory.

Headquartered in Fara San Martino, Italy, De Cecco is the third largest pasta producer in the world. De Cecco USA is based in New York City, NY.
